WhAT HAPPENS WHEN YOUNG PEOPLE TAKE CHARGE?
While many schools aspire to nurture future leaders, few empower young people to control how they learn right now. This month, we learn from the places that do. We’ll consider what it looks like, what makes it so hard for adults to embrace, and what’s possible when we do.
Register below with a sponsorship code or via sliding scale pricing that begins at $25. (Note: the sliding scale is an intentional effort to make inspiration as accessible as possible and to distribute resources equitably between organizations we work with.)

The Colorado Youth Congress works with top high school leaders across Colorado to drive transformative systems change. Since starting in 2017, it has grown to 250 members representing 30 communities across Colorado, all working together to address the most vexing challenges of our generation. Young people make up ⅓ of our board of directors. They help set the vision, strategy and programming for the organization and manage all of our recruitment efforts.

Renaissance Program at Twinfield Union School
VERMONT
The Renaissance Program at Twinfield Union School was established 20 years ago following an honest reflection from a learner who saw dropping out as the only way to reinvigorate her passion for learning. The Renaissance Program allows all high school learners to create a learning exploration based on their interests and passions. They can even design their entire curriculum through Renaissance opportunities while meeting all of the required graduation competencies.
Guest Facilitator
Alyssia Janee (AJ) is an alumni of GripTape, where she now serves as the Senior Fellow. She is learning how to start, lead, and grow an organization while shadowing the CEO of GripTape, and organization that puts young people in the driver’s seat of their own learning.
AJ is a recent college graduate from the University of Louisville, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing. When she is not working, you can find her creating content for her brand, “The Student Boss,” trying a new recipe, or learning a new skill.
